Meaningful Work

Feed My Starving Children is a Christian Nonprofit Organization that tackles world hunger in a unique way. With formulas developed by scientists to prevent and reverse malnutrition, FMSC has volunteers pack meals to be sent overseas to our partners who distribute them to children and families. As a Volunteer Program Facilitator, I worked for our MobilePack division which hosted events all over the U.S. and set up packing facilities in churches, schools, community centers, etc. I facilitated the set-up, packing session, and clean up of the entire event. I orchestrated the packing session activities by leading several talks in front of the hundreds of volunteers. My goal was to inspire every volunteer to become invested in feeding the kids and making everyone's experience volunteering with FMSC one to remember.

Meeting New People

One of the unique features of working for the MobilePack team at FMSC is that I got the opportunity to travel to new destinations for each event that I was on where I got to interact with different hosts and different team members. I loved this part of my job! It was incredible seeing a space go from empty to a full packing room with the help of incredible
volunteers. It was such a blessing to be able to hear the stories of our host teams and gain a new perspective on that community and those individuals. I was not only being the hands and feet of God working
with this incredible organization, but I got to spread His word to people near and far.

Lucas Nelson, Senior Event Supervisor

Heather Kilber is an all-star, she has an incredible attitude that is infectious to everyone around her and she can positively impact any room because of that. Heather has flawlessly transitioned into a job where she is asked to be at times in charge of running logistics, speaking in front of groups, and maintaining interpersonal relationships with volunteers that come to our event. We’ve been very blessed to have Heather be a part of our Feed My Starving Children team as she constantly puts her best foot forward whether that means learning something new, supporting the team, or taking leadership when direction is lacking. Heather always steps up to the plate in any situation or challenge she may face.

Michael Chalmers, Regional Program Manager

Heather Kilber has a great attitude and work ethic! As an event supervisor, I was always excited to have Heather on the team! She sees needs and addresses them to ensure the event goes smoothly from all perspectives. Her effort and creativity are clear when she is on any event. While at Feed My Starving Children I have had the opportunity to work with Heather in multiple capacities. Heather is willing to go above and beyond her role as a volunteer program facilitator. She utilized her graphic design skills to create a professional communication piece that summarizes the events to event hosts! I unequivocally endorse Heather for her outstanding contributions at FMSC.
