Hands On Experience

Design & Agency is an embedded design studio within the Augsburg University's Graphic Design program. The structure was designed by the professors who work alongside the students to mentor, guide, and collaborate with them through the development of meaningful design solutions. All of the work we created in this course was for clients and benefitted their organization. I had the opportunity to work with two organizations during my time in the studio, Ashby House and Green Lands Blue Waters. My team was able to create original design content for both of these organizations. This experience was unique in that I was able to learn how the design process works with real clients and test out my design skills in the business world while completing my graphic design minor.

Iterations, Iterations, Iterations

Being a project designer, I was able to apply design thinking skills through ideation, research, prototyping, and connecting with the audience. We listened to the client needs and desires and then researched those further to come up with ideas of what designs we could contribute. I went through many iterations for each client, trying to find a logo design, a post card template, or a pattern that was representative for that organization. I was able to produce final logos, style guides, post card templates, banner templates, powerpoint templates, brochures, and business materials for these clients. Producing these design projects utilized my knowledge and integration of design software. It was a challenging experience at times and it allowed me to explore a variety of techniques for creative problem solving. It is very rewarding going from complex ideas to a concise final product.
