Event Planning Skills

During my sophomore year at the University of St. Thomas I had the opportunity to join the executive board for Residence Hall Association as one of the two Vice Presidents of Programming. With a previous interest in the event planning industry, I took the position and got to work. Throughout the 2016-2017 academic year, my colleague and I planned over 20 events that would interest many different members of the on-campus UST students. While on the executive board, I also had the opportunity to attend the annual MACURH conference where RHA teams from different campuses came together to learn new leadership skills and how we can continue to be examples for others on campus.

Contributed to Campus Culture

In this position, I coordinated, planned, and executed multiple events per semester that were attractive to a wide variety of students living on campus. We collaborated with several groups to create inclusive and diverse events. While in this position I was a voice for the on-campus residents and brought awareness to their concerns and questions. I continuously promoted community and unity throughout campus. I developed my event planning skills and learned how to
problem solve under tight deadlines.

Andrew Ullmann, Co-VP of Programming

I had the pleasure of working alongside Heather for the 2016/2017 school year as the Vice Presidents of Programming for the University of St. Thomas Residence Hall Association. Her energy was contagious and her positive attitude toward the job kept the group motivated to achieve success with all of our events. She is genuinely sincere who opens humbly to good advice and is always willing to seek self-improvement. Heather is an extremely well-developed, all-around individual, and her strong sense of responsibility to be the best she can be will bring insurmountable success in her future.
